This week, we’ll talk about the mapped story format, using this great visual to help us get oriented, and also spend some time refreshing your memory of the basics of media law and ethics.
Your assignment this week will be the mapped story — which requires you to attend an event on campus and interview other attendees, so plan ahead! Remember that you also have a number of revisions to work on, as well as a fresh set of Newsroom101 quizzes due this week.
Edited 9/25 after class to add: you opted for online class on Thursday, so here are video directions for what to do in lieu of meeting in person. (Ignore the Mass Comm 150 reference; they did the same activity this semester, and the directions are the same.) Remember that completing this by Sunday 9/30 at 11:59 p.m. is how you’ll earn credit for attending class. Let me know if you have questions!
